The ECOFAC Program is the flagship regional program of the European Union with the aim of nature conservation in Central Africa. The meetings of the Steering Committee make it possible to underline the evolution of conservation in Central Africa and to highlight how the Program accompanies this multidimensional process and also, how the future could be shaped in terms of local conservation-development, in particular in the framework of the next NaturAfrica program.
The services provided under this “multi-event” contract were very similar in each country – with the exception of the COPIL in Douala, which required many more services as it involved organizing the meetings of the National Monitoring Framework of the ECOFAC regional program. The successive events in Kinshasa, Yaoundé, N’Djamena, Libreville, Brazzaville, Bangui and Sao Tomé e Principe brought together a maximum of forty people at each event (around fifty participants in Yaoundé in May 2022), while the COPIL in Douala in May 2021 brought together 140 people over 3 days, including 22 sponsored by the European Union.
