C&M / NOOKOM teams assisted the European Union Delegation (EUD) in Uzbekistan on 18th November 2022 in the organisation of the high-level event “EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference: Global Gateway for Sustainable Development” that took place in Samarkand in physical format. Through this event the EUD has been actively supporting Central Asia’s transition towards a sustainable, climate-neutral and inclusive growth based on democracy and the rule of law.
The Conference focused on challenges and opportunities for the Global Gateway in three priority areas – digital broadband to Central Asia, sustainable transport connections in Central Asia, and green transition – environment/energy and water – based on the Team Europe Initiatives, under preparation within EU regional and bilateral programmes in line with the new programming cycle for 2021-2027 as well as initiatives and technological solutions offered by the EU private sector. The discussion elaborated on how to transform these initiatives into Roadmaps, including sustainable financing. The conference exceeded all expectations and was attended by over 500 participants on-site.
Apart this main event C&M / NOOKOM provided on-site logistical support for organisation of the Youth Side Event “Young voices of central Asia” on 17th November and Counsellors meeting on 19th November 2022.
