C&M is delighted to announce that TIEG EEIG was awarded a new contract and will be supporting the European Commission in Global Gateway (GG) initiatives. GG is a new European strategy to boost smart, clean and secure links in digital, energy and transport sectors and to strengthen health, education and research systems across the world. The EU private sector is a key actor. A Business Advisory Group (BAG) will be set up to attract the most relevant EU companies and business organisations and involve them in the GG. The BAG will consist in a continued and informal engagement with CEOs of major European companies in critical sectors.
TiEG will assist the European Commission to establish and manage the consultation with the EU private sector under the Global Gateway, and in particular will:
- Provide a workplan and vision for the GG BAG, including the operational modus operandi of the three layers and suggestions of private sector members;
- Identify from the consultation with the EU private sector, main strategic sustainable investment projects in accordance to GG priorities, and propose specific avenues and workplan to establish the collaboration to implement these;
- Coordinate effectively the three layers in close collaboration with Directorate General for International Partnerships;
- Provide a support to the European Business Organisations Worldwide Network (EBOWWN) to ensure an efficient consultation mechanism inside EBOWWN members, prepare the relevant consultative meetings and meetings with the European Commission, and upgrade the knowledge capacity of EBOWWN.
TiEG’s team consisting of 2 key experts will start the implementation on 9 January 2023 and will work on the assignment until 30 November 2023.
