We are proud to announce that C&M/NOOKOM EEIG will provide administrative, logistic and communication support for the organisation of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda Stakeholder Event, in a “hybrid” format which is expected to take place in Nairobi, Kenya. This event that will convene “on site” around 300 participants is conceived with several aims:
- Presenting and discussing on (A) the outcome of the online public consultation on the working document/draft of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda (which was open between 14 February and 30 June 2022), with a report published in mid-September; (B) the up-to-date draft implementation plan of the Innovation Agenda, integrating the outcome of the consultation.
- Providing a forum for discussion of specific stakeholder demands and ideas, and possible implementation routes of the Innovation Agenda according to the four priority areas of the AU-EU R&I cooperation, namely Public Health, Green Transition, Innovation and Technology and Capacities for Science and considering also the crosscutting issues, included in the working document of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda.
- Providing an event for EU and AU innovators, technology hubs, incubators and financial market players to showcase the AU and EU vibrant innovation ecosystems (e.g., in the form of a matchmaking session entitled “AU-EU Innovation Fair – meet the innovators”, encompassing 3 minute-pitches and poster presentations, in addition to a networking dinner) and to catalyse additional partnerships.
- Providing strategic training and information sessions focused on topics of particular relevance to the implementation of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda.
Because of its broad-spectrum nature, this event will promote all the cross-cutting objectives of the EC, such as environment and climate change, rights-based approach, persons with disability, indigenous peoples and gender equality.
The project planning started in October 2022 and the event will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd and Thursday, November 24th 2022.
