C&M, as a member of the Consortium led by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, organised 4th event in the series within the policy dialogue “Gateways for Peace”, which is focused on bringing together experts from specific fields with the goal to enhance the European Union and South Africa co-operation and coordination on peace and security.
The hybrid roundtable, attended online by few dozens of invited guests, took place in Pretoria on 28th February 2022. Following the opening remarks of the EU Ambassador to South Africa Dr. Riina Kionka, the panellists discussed the following topics:
- Highlights of the Lessons Learnt through the Gateways Project Events
- Key Lessons for Creating Peace and Security in Africa: Which way forward for South Africa?
- Best Practices and Lessons Learnt on Conflict Management in the Horn of Africa
- Implications of the resurgence of coups in Africa
- Role of external actors in peace and security on the continent
