C&M, as a member of the Consortium led by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, organised three webinars under the umbrella of the project “Enhancing engagement with stakeholders in South Africa on foreign policy issues”.  The contract has successfully started and focuses on promoting policy dialogue –  “Gateways for Peace” – bringing together experts from specific fields with the goal to enhance the European Union and  South Africa co-operation and coordination on peace and security, human rights and governance issues at the global, continental and regional level. Deepening the understanding between the EU and SA on their respective point of views, and by contributing to identify possible joint EU-SA actions in the region and the continent, the action also contributes to the broader EU objective of promoting a stronger and deeper partnership with Africa at large.

The webinars organised in 2021 included:

  • Webinar 1 – Implementing the Agenda for Peace: Lessons learnt, 20 October 2021
  • Webinar 2 – Conflicts, Resilience, Governance and Human Rights in the SADC region: The need for a comprehensive response to the conflict in Cabo Delgado, 24 November 2021
  • Webinar 3 – Implementing the Conflict Prevention Pillar of the Women Peace and Security Agenda: EU and SA sharing experiences, 3 December 2021.
