Our consortium TIEG-EEIG / TAS Europrojects has been awarded a new contract by the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community Contracting Authority to provide Technical Assistance for Supporting the Republic of Moldova in Achieving Compliance with the Relevant EU Waterborne Transport Acquis (Contract No. PS/SRV/PIU/006/2024). The project is with duration of 7.5 months and it will play an important role in strengthening Moldova’s integration into the European transport network.
The initiative aims to help the Republic of Moldova transpose and implement key EU legislation in the waterborne transport sector, thereby supporting the country’s efforts to modernise its legal framework and ensure compliance with EU standards.
The project’s main objective is to assist Moldova in aligning its legislation with the requirements of Annex I of the Transport Community Treaty, covering EU waterborne transport legislation, standards, and best practices. This alignment will contribute to building a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable transport system.
The specific objectives include:
• Developing a transposition plan and implementation roadmap for selected EU legal acts in the waterborne transport field.
• Drafting legislation to ensure full regulatory compliance with the targeted TCT Annex I EU acquis.
This contract marks another step in supporting Moldova’s European integration path and in promoting safe, efficient, and sustainable transport connections across the region.
